My last post "The Seven Dwarfs and the Tiny Room", reminded me of a
puzzle posted in 1999*:
Create a 4 by 4 grid of cells. Put one letter in each cell, either
"A", "B", "C", or "D", such that one can create any sequence of these
letters by stepping from one cell to an adjacent cell. The steps can be
orthogonal or diagonal (Boggle fashion, except that one can revisit
cells). Make sure to allow for sequences with repeated letters like
"...AAAAA...".
*Side note: Google apparently lost/discarded most of the early Usenet
posts--including many of my posts to rec.puzzles. It reminds me of how
many early motion picture films were lost when production companies had
them destroyed to save storage space. When Google took over the Deja
News archive, who knew that much of the early history of the Internet
was going to be willfully discarded and/or made irretrievable.
